Huge, delicious sandwiches in the Mission. With Mr. Pickles just a few buildings away from home, we end up eating their sandwiches and bagels for breakfast and lunch several days a week. They offer a large variety of huge, delicious sandwiches piled high with fresh ingredients. All sandwiches come with pesto on them- if you're not a fan, mention that when ordering! My advice is to skip the mayo and mustard and go for extra pesto. They offer a great bagel w/lox, capers, tomato, and onion. I have tried most of their menu items and they're consistently good. Nothing fancy, but really delicious. BEWARE- they run out of ingredients kind of often, and there's always a line at lunchtime, so it's best to call ahead and order.
No-frills corner deli dishes up huge sandwiches for penny-wise prices..
The Mission outpost of this popular Peninsula chain serves up coffee drinks and bagels to neighborhood locals in the morning, and hosts a bustling crowd hungry for its enormous specialty sandwiches at lunch. Try the Ray Ray, salami and cheddar on a Dutch crunch roll, or the Gaucho, chicken breast marinated in hot sauce with ranch dressing on sourdough. Other than a few counter seats, there's nowhere to sit, so most order their meals to-go.
