the ugly truth. there is no doubt that Pad Thai serves fantastic food, but the quality of the service is horrible. The young woman that has been working there for sometime now acts as if she couldn't hate her job more than she does. the owner doesn't seem to care what goes on there as long as he is making money. i recently went with some family and the woman was repeatedly hitting our feet with the vaccuum and looking at us as if we were just a pest in her way. she would take way to long to get something as simple as a refill of water, we asked for extra sauce for our spring rolls, (which i suggest if you do go there you get an order; they're delicious!) once she finally brought it out after we were half way done with our meals she threw it on the table spilling it everywhere then started to walk away as if were our problem. unfortunately we had to get a bit nasty because by that point we were extremely frustrated. so even though there food is delicious it is disappointing that they do not care enough to make sure customers leave completely satisfied.
WE ARE HUGE FANS!. I live in Mechanicsville and had heard about this restaurant from four different people...we finally went...and we are "hooked". They all said "the building itself is not the best looking but don't be fooled, the meals are unbelievable". Their food is "incredible" and its been consistent every time we've gone. It's really hard for me to try different dishes because I want to relive the last (like "Pad Thai with shrimp and chicken") but tonight I tried "Crispy Spicy Duck" and its was very good. I told the owner though...I'll have to come back tomorrow so I can have the other dish again too....I actually "crave" this food. We wish them much success.
Was pretty good, now in decline.. Have been going there for a while but it seems that they (the owners) are now taking customers for granted, maybe the excellent ratings have been getting to their heads. On the most recent visit, even the food was mediocre - the fried rice was all stuck together, from too much water and overcooking. We were served tea as soon as we sat down, my friend asked if it was complimentary. When the waitress affirmed that it was, he took a sip. Guess what? The owner made him pay for it. I had to repeatedly ask for water and condiments, which got when I had finished my meal. In this recession, I think I will take my money and patronship elsewhere.
Fresh flavorful thai. Don't let the looks of this place fool you, Pad Thai Restaurant's food will excite your taste buds. The owners grow many of the herbs used in their savory dishes. I have tried many dishes, all of them delicious. My favorites menu items are the panang curry and drunken noodles. The service is good. The prices are very reasonable.
SUPERB! SUPERB1 SUPERB!. IT'S LIKE A WHOLE IN THE WALL. EASY TO MISS IF YOU'RE NOT PAYING ATTENTION. BEST THAI FOOD AROUND. I WON'T GO ANYWHERE ELSE FOR THAI. PAT AND TIN (OWNERS) ARE SUCH HAPPY PEOPLE. THE SERVICE IS TOP NOTCH, THE FOOD IS EXCELLENT. THERE ARE NO FRILLS HERE, NO FANCY FOUNTAINS, JUST GOOD FOOD AND GREAT PEOPLE. WE LOVE THE BEEF WITH PINEAPPLE AND CASHEW AND THE SPICY EGGPLANT WITH SAUCE. WE ALSO LOVE THE SPRING ROLLS AND CHICKEN SATAY FOR APPETIZERS. HAPPY EATING. ENJOY!
O my god. This is the best place i have ever been in my life. I never liked thai food till i came her. The service is sooooo personal they know what i am going to order wright when i walk in. Shrimp fried rice. The shrimp is sooo flavorful and juicy and it is soooooooooooooooooooooooo goood. 5 stars
Most Authentic Thai Food In The Richmond Metro Area - Worth The Drive. This is truly Richmond's best little secret. Hard to find initially - few if any signs on the building. But once you'vr tried the food, you'll be convinced it's probably the most authentic Thai restuarant in the area. You get a glimpse of what you're in for when you walk from the parking lot to the front door - fresh herbs & red chili peppers grow on the side of the building. Everything is very fresh. Inside atmosphere is nothing special, so don't expect an extravagent dining room. The food, however, is outstanding. I frequent a meal that is a chicken/curry type dish, which is some of the best Thai food I've ever had - and I've been to some of the best Thai restaurant in the USA. The Pad Thai is of course excellent, as is the peanut sauce for the satay. A great spot for kids as well. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an authentic Thai experience without the fancy tablecloths. Service was great. Meals were priced right as well.
Authentic and Excellent Thai. Outstanding! Plenty of food, nice lunch menu, and very authentic in style. Keep yours eyes open or you'll drive right the building. It is not in a strip mall - Kind of in the middle of nowhere. But what a great find!
Great Food!!!!!!!!!. Don't let the outside fool you! The food is great and service is very good. I can only recommend this place.
This Place is the BEST!!!. Great Customer Service!!! Great Owners!! And the Food....well...it keeps me coming back for more! Both the restaurant and pick up option are very quick! The Owners, Pat and Tin are so fun to speak with and are always giving the place an update! We love Pad Thai and would recommed the Pineapple Cashew Chicken (MILD) along with the YUMMY spring rolls!! And most evenings you'll hear the train roll by around 6pm ..such a great time! You will enjoy!!
Great Thai Food in a Funky Location. This little gem is hard to find, with its location in an old service station but the food is superb! I was reluctant to try this restaurant because of the location but my daughter convinced me that it was excellent and she was exactly right. The inside is very neat and clean and the service is good. The Thai dishes are spiced to your taste and the variety is amazing given that this is a small family operation. The prices are extremely reasonable; this restaurant is a great value. I highly recommend Pad Thai.
