Nice atmosphere, but mediocre food and service. My husband and I dined at Farmicia on a quiet Sunday evening and were quite disappointed. I had been attracted by the fact that you can bring your own wine and that they serve locally produced food, and that the owner was previously associated with the White Dog Cafe (which we love.) Well, on arrival, everything looked good- the ambiance, music was very nice-- and we were seated at a cute table. However, from there it all kind of went downhill. It took quite a while to get our wine opened, even though the restaurant wasn't at all busy, and our waiter was just really slow and uncommunicative and seemed totally uninterested in serving us-- I had to ask him if he was taking our order because he was just standing in front of us awkwardly after I had asked a question about the soup. Anyway, my husband ordered a fish dish which came out lukewarm, so he sent it back to heat up. And beside that, it was just bland and overpriced. I ordered a vegetarian dish that was just okay. No one ever came to ask how everything was, not even when they cleared our plates. Overall, Farmicia's got a great Old City location and pleasant atmosphere, but these don't nearly make up for the bad servic and unimpressive food.
